Oregon done, entering Washington, mile 1699 to 2155

Crater Lake

Wow, Oregon has been fast! 21 days it took me from I crossed over from California to I entered into Washington. It has been 21 eventful days though: Crater Lake, Three Sisters Wilderness, views of Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood and numerous other mountains, as well as hiking the amazing Eagle Creek Trail down to Cascade Locks. All this, and I still managed to fit in 2 zero days in Ashland and 3 zero days with Croatian and Not A Chance in Portland. Oregon has been a good section.
As I am getting further north I am getting a bit more worried about hitting the infamous north-western rain, but other than a 30 minute torrential downpour while at Elk Lake it hasn’t been bad at all so far. And, according to the “locals” we are not likely to see any substantial rain in August. I for one hope that they are right. Another benefit to being this far already is that I have managed to dodge all the forest fires that are currently going on in Northern California and Oregon. Still enjoying the trail. Here are some of my photos from Oregon.
